Missionary Hymn

Sing to the LORD a new song;
sing to the LORD, all the earth.
Sing to the LORD, praise His name;
proclaim his salvation day after day.
Declare His glory among the nations,
His marvelous deeds among all peoples.

For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise;
He is to be feared above all gods.
For all the gods of the nations are idols,
but the LORD made the heavens.
Splendor and majesty are before Him;
strength and glory are in His sanctuary.

Ascribe to the LORD, O families of nations,
ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name;
bring an offering and come into His courts.

Worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness;
tremble before Him, all the earth.
Say among the nations, "The LORD reigns."
The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved;
He will judge the peoples with equity.

Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
let the sea resound, and all that is in it;
let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them.
Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy;
they will sing before the LORD, for He comes,
He comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
and the peoples in His truth.
- Psalm 96

I will be still and know you are God

MUSIC OF HOPE: We praise and thank God for a night of song and worship! We kept still, and God just showered us with His love.

Backstage, I saw every performer applaud for each other. I saw each performer pray as a group, worshipping God, before coming up on stage. That even includes the 4Bars, led by Tito Joe. I saw each one's nervous face but was overshadowed by a bright smile, a smile that of a child in the comforting arms of his Father.

It was a night all about love --- love for community, love for God!

Where in the world...

... is The Arena?

Be like one of the three kings.

Bring the most precious gift --- yourself, to the community that you love!

Two thousand years ago, the three kings must have asked "Where in the world will we bring this gift?". Guided by a star, they found God's greatest gift to mankind --- His love.

Today, we ask "After all that has happened to our community, where in the world will we bring ourselves, to help this community that we love?"

Bring yourselves to The Arena, brothers and sisters, and maybe we'll all find anew God's greatest gift to us --- His love!

God bless you!

I will sing forever of your love, oh Lord!

A Roll-call of Healing

I praise God for a beautiful healing worship last night!

I cannot call it successful, for God's work is always a success. It was simply an awesome and beautiful night of prayer for healing.

So now I invite you to a roll-call of healing. If you were healed, or even in the process of healing, or you know someone who got healed, let's hear about it. Let's share it to the world that, indeed, Jesus lives, and by His wounds, we are healed.

Write about your healing in the Comments below, or email it at lordhealme@gmail.com.

God loves you! God bless you!

They sang a 12-voice arrangement of "God will make a way". And God indeed made a way for 29AD to the Finals.

May19-20

Baguio (again)!!!

29AD made music during the Entertainment Night of Central-A's HOPE WEEKEND at Baguio's Teacher's Camp. We played the dancing tunes for 2 straight hours as our brothers and sisters danced to their heart's content... and till their feet tired. It became hot in Baguio!

We also led the Praisefest at the culmination of the weekend.

Pictures will be posted soon (ang dami e!).

"Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD,
to the house of the God of Jacob.
He will teach us His ways,
so that we may walk in His paths."
The law will go out from Zion,
the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Nativity of the Lord Parish

May 9 - No doubt about it, God was in His house that night! Bob gave a talk at the Nativity of the Lord Parish (Cubao, QC) about "Forming Your Music Ministry" for a cluster in CFC West B. Sharings were done by Aileen, Mimmon and Chris.

After the talk, there was a mini-praisefest, led by a handful 29AD band --- Chris on guitar, Biboy on Bass, Mimmon on e-drums, and Roy on vocals. Grabe! Luuupet!

We really felt God's presence that night! Our brothers and sisters of West-B went home with our Lord in their hearts. We continue to pray that that night would be the nativity of their music ministries.

And how lovely is Your dwelling place, Oh Lord, mighty God, Lord of all!

Talk about "Forming Your Music Ministry" during David's time ---

David said, "Of these, twenty-four thousand are to supervise the work of the temple of the LORD and six thousand are to be officials and judges. Four thousand are to be gatekeepers and four thousand are to praise the LORD with the musical instruments I have provided for that purpose."
-1 Chronicles 23:4-5

Thanks to Biboy for the pictures.

Guess who are the people in your (29AD) neighborhood...

With the group PASSAGE (The album's cover shown). Wow, long hair pala nuon! Strong contender for Tito Glenn's throne. The best rhythm section bastion and leader you can play with.
Who is he?

Love at the Rally

We were the music ministry for the Central-A Evangelization Rally held at the Mandaluyong Gym last Sunday Feb18 1-5pm.

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

But the greatest of these is....

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
- 1 Corinthians 13

At the February CFC Social Ministries Forum and 4BARS

We were the music ministry for the CFC Social Ministries Breakfast Forum at the Gabaldon Room of Club Filipino last Saturday Feb10.

These fora are regularly held every month by the CFC Social Ministries. For this month of February, the speaker was Atty. Alex Lacson, talking about "Good Citizenship". Atty. Lacson is the author of the book "12 Little Things Every Filipino Can Do To Help Our Country".

The day also launched the 4 BARS, four singing members of STMA. They were taught by our very own arranger-extraordinaire Nonong Sampang. They sang "Love is a Many Splendored Thing" and "Blowing in the Wind". Members of the 4BARS are:
- Former Deputy Executive Secretary Bro. Joe Tale
- Former COA Commissioner Bro. Nonoy Dalman
- Atty. Bro Nides Respicio
- Justice Bro. Joey Reyes

Buy Pilipino. See you in the next forum?

Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good....

9 Degrees for 29AD's

B A G U I O !!!
29AD was one of the two bands who made music during the recent CFC Mission Core HOPE Weekend held at Camp John Hay, Baguio, playing for the entertainment night Saturday February3. It was 9 degrees outside but because of the music, the dancing, the laughter, and the Holy Spirit, it was hot on the convention center where 29AD performed!

Missions like these are always a long story. And no words could ever describe it. It's best to experience it. So... see you in the next mission!?!

*** Missionary Hymn***
Sing to the LORD a new song;
sing to the LORD, all the earth.
Sing to the LORD, praise His name;
proclaim His salvation day after day.
Declare His glory among the nations,
His marvelous deeds among all peoples.

Music at 1st STMA Coordinators Meeting for 2007

January 20. We were the music ministry for the 1st STMA Coordinators Meeting held at the Layforce Multipurpose Room, San Carlos Seminary, Guadalupe Makati.

Did you know that St. Thomas More coined the following words, thus contributing to the english language: fact, taunt, shuffle, paradox, anticipate... and a handful more. He also termed the phrase "to be the best of something".

That's one of the greatest ways to start the Year --- to be the best of something!

To give and to be the best in music and in our service,
and to give and be the best in praising God!

This is what the Lord says, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go"
--- Isaiah 48:17
